Jon Rahm, How It Began For The 2023 Masters Tournament Champion.

     Born Jon Rahm Rodriguez, is a Professional Golfer from Spain. Rahm started his journey around 2011, playing with the European Boys' Team , and round 2014 playing with the European Amateur Team . He attended Arizona State University , There he was coached by Tim Mickelson (The brother of Professional Golfer Phil Mickelson). While attending Arizona State he won 11 golf tournaments. Jon Rahm was the 2015 and 2016 recipient of the Ben Hogan Award . In 2015 Rahm was also the 28th Player to beg ranked No. 1 in the World Amateur Ranking. He was awarded the Mark H. McCormack Medal in 2015, which qualified him him for the following year's U.S. Open and Open Championship. His senior year at Arizona State He won the PAC-12 conference. In the 2016 U.S. Open he finished in tie for 23rd place, finishing with a 7 over par. In 2017 Rahm earned enough point as a non-member to receive a PGA Tour card. The 2023 Masters Tournament Played at Augusta National

            The 2023 Masters Tournament was full of surprises this year, opening round 1 on Thursday April 6 with a plethora of golf pros, and past champions. Some of those that graced the course of Augusta National would include Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Jason Spieth, and many more. This years purse is an estimated $15,000,000 with many golfers seeking to be one of the top tier winners.  For the duration of the tournament Brooks Koepka held the number one position with Jon Rahm trailing behind. Tiger Woods (a five time Masters winner) and Phil Mickelson ( a three time Masters winner) were trying to get there bearing in round 1 and 2. With round 2 being plagued with heavy rain the event had to be suspended and upon resuming the next day it brought round 2 to a close. Unfortunately Tiger had to withdraw from the tournament towards the end due to a foot injury. How It All Began-The Professional Golfers’ Association of America

      Founded in 1916 the PGA has grown to become the world’s largest sports organization, and has extended membership to some of the best golfers in the world. Officially formed April 10, 1916 the founder suggested that an annual tournament be held with an offer to donate money for the trophy and prize and in October the first PGA Championship was held at Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, New York. Lewis Rodman Wanamaker  the founder of the PGA, in that same year served as a presidential elector. Over the years the membership of the PGA has grown, and it now has over 29,000 members. In 1968 was the birthing of the PGA Tour, and is one of four major golf tournaments. The Professional Golfers’Association of America is headquartered in Frisco, Texas after moving from Palm Beach, Florida. The PGA Tour is held all around North America (primarily The United States).
